Cambodia Casinos
January 8th, 2022 by Jordan

There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the border from next door Thailand, where casino betting is not allowed. Eight gambling halls are based in a relatively small space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling dens is in a perfect location, a 3 to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The phenomenal income gained from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few limitations requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; still, financing sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and even though visas are allegedly required to pass, there are methods around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.

The original Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored ship gambling hall, features one hundred and fifty slot machines and 60 table games. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of twenty-one, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon followed. There are one hundred and fifty slots and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machine games and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat banque (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and sixty six of the familiar gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight casinos in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a comprehensive vacation and hotel complex that contains a number of conveniences on top of the casino, which contains ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and eighty eight gaming tables.
