Cambodia Casinos

There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just across the border from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling hall wagering is not allowed. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a relatively small area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent area, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing income gained from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of limitations requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; still, funding sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and though visas are for all intents and purposes needed to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is accurate of most borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge gambling hall, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machines and sixty tables. The Naga gambling den is open all hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. A total of 150 one armed bandits and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred one armed bandits and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and 66 of the familiar gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive resort and hotel complex that contains a number of amenities accompanying the casino, which houses 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and 88 tables.
